Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our dynamic service team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise in mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration, and building automation will ensure optimal indoor climate control and energy efficiency for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Duties Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical system diagnostics to identify faults. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately execute installations and repairs. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex HVAC system problems related to mechanical components, electrical wiring, refrigeration cycles, or building automation controls. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems where necessary to ensure proper fluid flow and system integrity. Maintain detailed service records of all work performed and communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs or system upgrades. Adhere strictly to safety protocols including EPA certification requirements for refrigerant handling. Assist in the installation of HVAC system components in new construction or retrofit projects while ensuring compliance with building codes. Support property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R equipment to optimize building performance. Qualifications Proven experience in construction environments as well as service technician roles specializing in HVAC systems. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems (BAS), and electrical systems diagnostics. Experience with refrigeration cycles, boiler operation, appliance repair, and plumbing related to HVAC applications. Proficiency using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of HVAC/R standards including EPA certification for refrigerant handling. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems efficiently using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Prior experience working with property maintenance teams or in field service roles is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
