JOB SUMMARY T
h e Service Tech 3-Industrial is responsible for r epairing, maintaining , diagnosing , testing and performing schedul ed inspections on advanced mechanical refrigeration systems and associated equipment throughout the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides preventative and corrective service on refrigeration and HVAC equipment. Provides preventative and corrective service on screw, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors. Reads blueprints , runs condui t, wires devices, troubleshoots and performs quality control testing. Read s and interprets mechanical and electrical drawings and code specifications for determining wiring layouts. Trouble - shoots, tests and repairs various electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly. Utilizes construction and fabrication skills. Ensures and monitors safe work practices and safety guidelines. Be actively involved in all of the elements of the PSM/RMP programs. Performs complete inspection with minimal errors. Performs upgrades or preventive maintenance to mechanical and electrical control systems. Provides informal and formal training for other team members as required . Supervises team members. Bids jobs as needed. Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety). Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education / Training High school diploma, GED, or completion from trade program or technical school, required. EPA Certification (Type I, II and III). All required safety certifications. Work Experience / Skills 3-5 years' work experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration. Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience, supermarket stores, industrial chillers and cooling towers. Expert k nowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the refrigeration , HVAC and electrical trade. Expert k nowledge of refrigeration and HVAC theory and application. Expert k nowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Expert k nowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system. Expert k nowledge of water flow, water cooled equipment and controls. Expert k nowledge of air flow and pressure. Expert k nowledge of different types of centrifugal compressors, piston compressors, screw compressors. Expert k nowledge of evaporative and cooling towers, chillers and purging unit . Expert knowledge of ammonia systems. Expert s kill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components. Unders tands quality management system and safety procedures. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to supervise team members. Ability to bid jobs and make material/equipment lists. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Good driving record. Valid driver's license required at all times. Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws. Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.

Work Environment This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts. Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels. The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations. This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. These conditions require employees to use the correct PPE and safe work practices. Physical Demands This position is very active and requires excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employees are regularly required to walk and stand for long periods, hear, drive, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, use hands and fingers, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
