This energetic role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential systems, ensuring comfort and efficiency in homes. You'll utilize your mechanical expertise and technical skills to diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment, contributing to improved indoor air quality and energy savings. Duties Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of residential HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately troubleshoot issues. Conduct system diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and other testing equipment to identify faults efficiently. Repair or replace mechanical components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and piping systems including plumbing connections. Utilize welding skills for component repairs or modifications when necessary. Diagnose electrical issues within HVAC systems and ensure proper wiring and control functions. Maintain detailed service records, complete reports on work performed, and communicate findings clearly with customers. Ensure compliance with safety standards and local codes during all service activities. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and troubleshooting techniques using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Knowledge of plumbing systems, appliance repair, boiler operation, and general equipment repair is a plus. Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams accurately for system installation or troubleshooting purposes. Field service experience with a focus on residential properties; excellent problem-solving skills are essential. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Additional skills such as welding, working with refrigeration gases like ammonia, or mechanical experience in boiler systems will be considered advantageous.
