Hvac Service Technician

HVAC Service Technician Overview We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to perform commercial service, maintenance, and repairs across a territory spanning Manhattan to the Hamptons. This is a field-based, independent role supporting retail, industrial, and other commercial facilities, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality workmanship, and professional customer service. Key Responsibilities Perform commercial HVAC service and preventive maintenance at customer sites Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems Service and maintain rooftop units, boilers, and chillers Conduct brazing, pipe welding, and mechanical repairs Read blueprints and technical documentation to diagnose issues Work independently while managing routes, calls, and documentation Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (approximately once per month) Safely operate and maintain a company-provided take-home service van Required Qualifications 7+ years of commercial HVAC service experience Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC and refrigeration systems Experience with RTUs, boilers, and chillers Proficiency in brazing and pipe welding Ability to read blueprints and schematics Current F60 and G60 certifications Valid driver's license and clean MVR Own basic HVAC tools Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications OSHA 30 certification Experience covering large urban and suburban service territories Why Join Us You'll join a growing mechanical company offering long-term stability, career growth, and a strong benefits package upon permanent hire, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bohemia, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
