HVAC SERVICE, SALES & INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

Sampson Plumbing & Heating - Bohemia, NY Full-Time | Competitive Hourly Pay + Sales/Performance Incentives Sampson Plumbing & Heating is expanding our HVAC division and looking for an experienced HVAC Service & Sales Technician who can diagnose, repair, sell and install residential and light commercial HVAC systems. We are looking for more than a parts changer. The right person can walk into a customer's home or business, properly diagnose the problem, explain the customer's options, make the repair when appropriate, and confidently recommend and sell replacement equipment when it makes sense. You should be equally comfortable turning a wrench and talking to a customer. What You'll Be Doing Diagnose and repair HVAC systems Perform residential and light commercial HVAC service Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC problems Service central air-conditioning systems Service heat pumps and ductless mini-split systems Perform preventative maintenance and system tune-ups Identify equipment that should be repaired versus replaced Present repair and replacement options to customers Provide professional recommendations without high-pressure sales tactics Generate leads and sell HVAC replacement systems Perform complete HVAC equipment change-outs and new installations Install condensers, air handlers, furnaces, heat pumps and related equipment Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging and system commissioning Complete start-ups and thoroughly test equipment before leaving the job Maintain accurate service documentation Keep company vehicles, tools and job sites clean and organized Communicate with customers and our office throughout the workday

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EPA

Section 608 Certification Valid and clean driver's license Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic ability Experience servicing and repairing residential HVAC equipment Experience performing HVAC equipment replacements and new installations Understanding of refrigerant systems and proper charging procedures Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls, motors, capacitors, contactors and related components Ability to work independently Professional appearance and communication skills Strong customer-service skills Ability to explain technical issues in a way customers understand Comfortable discussing pricing and presenting repair/replacement options Willingness to work throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties EPA Universal Certification is strongly preferred.

SALES EXPERIENCE IS A BIG PLUS

This position has a major customer-facing and sales component. We're looking for a technician who understands that good HVAC sales starts with good technical knowledge and earning the customer's trust.
