HVAC Technician Full-time $25-$28/
HR Job Summary:
The Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury is seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facility's maintenance department, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, heat pumps, and refrigeration units. Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation. Replace or repair defective parts, including motors, thermostats, wiring, and other components. Respond to emergency HVAC situations promptly to restore service and ensure the safety and comfort of residents. Be on-call for after-hours emergencies as needed. Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services. Assist with general facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work as needed. Support the maintenance team with special projects and renovations.
Education/Experience/Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. HVAC certification from an accredited trade school or equivalent apprenticeship program. EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants. Experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, preferably in a healthcare or nursing home environment. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including their operation, maintenance, and repair. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to perform tasks that require climbing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
