Cool Power is one of Long Island's premier residential HVAC providers. For nearly three decades, we have installed, serviced, and maintained heating and cooling systems for homeowners across Nassau and Suffolk County. Our reputation was built one house at a time. We hold thousands of active service agreements, and the majority of our new work comes from referrals and repeat customers. Homeowners call us because they know the job will be done right — and because the technician at their door is someone we trained, equipped, and stand behind. What We're Looking For We need a Service Technician who knows their trade, works hard, and refuses to cut corners. You take pride in clean diagnostics and clean workmanship, and you understand that the technician who shows up matters as much as the work that gets done. The right person for this seat is curious about the equipment, patient with the customer, and honest about what a system needs. You think before you quote. You explain what you found in plain language. You leave the house better than you found it. The Role We are hiring an experienced HVAC Service Technician to run service and maintenance calls across our Long Island territory. You will own each call end-to-end: diagnostics, repair, customer communication, and documentation. This is a technician role. We are looking for someone who can walk into an unfamiliar system, read it quickly, and make the right call — repair, replace, or escalate. The customer conversation matters as much as the wrench work. As part of this role you should be able to: Diagnose and repair equipment with skill and efficiency. You troubleshoot residential heating and cooling systems from the refrigerant circuit to the control board, find the root cause, and fix it right the first time. Perform preventative maintenance for our service agreement members. These customers are the foundation of the business, and you are the reason they stay with us year after year. Work as a team with dispatch, the parts desk, and your fellow techs. The best technicians know when to ask, when to teach, and when to tag in. Follow safety standards on every call. No shortcuts, no exceptions, for your safety and the customer's. Represent Cool Power with professionalism and pride. You are the company the moment you step out of the truck. Requirements Minimum 3 years of residential HVAC service experience Strong command of the refrigeration cycle, electrical troubleshooting, and gas heat diagnostics EPA 608 certification Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Safety-first mindset on every call NATE certification is a plus but not required.
