Summit Skilled Solutions Job Summary Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician II to support preventive, corrective, and general maintenance of HVAC systems across multiple facilities and geographic locations. This role is not assigned to a single site and requires travel, potentially up to 50% and occasionally for extended periods. The HVAC Technician II will perform system assessments, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and quality standards. Responsibilities include supporting facility maintenance operations, maintaining equipment performance, and ensuring proper documentation and communication regarding system status and repairs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and related equipment in commercial and industrial environments Conduct regular inspections to identify system deficiencies and ensure proper operation of building HVAC infrastructure Monitor, adjust, and maintain system components including refrigerants, heat exchangers, chillers, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and air conditioning equipment Perform diagnostic analysis to identify system malfunctions and implement corrective actions Maintain and support equipment such as AHUs, RTUs, chillers, cooling towers, mini-splits, ice machines, and refrigeration systems including walk-in freezers Assist with water treatment programs for chilled water, condenser water, and closed-loop systems Execute preventative maintenance tasks, including equipment inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and documentation of maintenance activities Maintain accurate logs of system performance, including temperature, pressure, and operational readings Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, machine history records, and CMMS work order systems Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical controls, motor controls, and switching systems Wire single and three-phase motors, run conduit, and pull wiring to mechanical and electrical equipment Support mechanical repairs involving HVAC and building systems alongside other technicians Follow all OSHA and company safety standards, including proper handling of refrigerants, oils, gases, and other hazardous materials Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory; request supplies as needed for service and repair work Perform additional facility-related tasks as assigned, including minor plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance support QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or GED required Completion of formal HVAC training program required (documentation or certification must be provided) Must be 21 years of age or older Experience Minimum of 6 years of related HVAC or mechanical maintenance experience Licenses & Certifications Valid driver's license required Relevant HVAC certifications or licenses required (as applicable) Skills & Abilities Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including safety manuals, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reporting and coordination with clients and team members Strong understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and electrical controls Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical system issues Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments safely and effectively Working knowledge of CMMS systems and work order documentation preferred Strong commitment to safety procedures and regulatory compliance Ability to work independently and in team environments across multiple job sites
