Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of commercial HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Your expertise will help create comfortable, safe environments for our clients by delivering top-tier service and technical solutions. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, chiller systems, hydronic systems, electric heating elements, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and conduct electrical diagnostics to identify system faults. Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design plans to execute installations and repairs accurately. Troubleshoot equipment problems related to refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing, and mechanical systems repair. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Conduct comprehensive system inspections, identify potential issues proactively, and recommend appropriate solutions. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC system repair and maintenance with 10 years of experience. Construction experience or familiarity with building construction processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems repair. Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and electrical systems within HVAC environments. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as HVAC/R or ammonia refrigeration are a plus. Ability to operate hand tools effectively and perform mechanical systems installation with precision. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Mechanical knowledge of boilers, rooftop units, hydronic systems, chillers, appliances repair, property maintenance tasks, air conditioning units, and building automation systems is preferred.
