Full Job Description Position Summary:
CMC & Maintenance, Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable HVAC Technician to join our facilities maintenance team. This role is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems in commercial and government facilities. The technician must be able to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and controls.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment (rooftop units, air handlers, split systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, etc.).
- Monitor and adjust HVAC parameters using Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Replace components (motors, belts, valves, sensors) and perform refrigerant repairs per EPA requirements.
- Maintain accurate service records and respond to emergency service calls.
- Coordinate with building management, customers, and subcontractors.
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial heating/cooling systems and ability to troubleshoot independently.
- Ability to use electrical meters, gauges, and diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift equipment and work from ladders, lifts, and rooftops.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- HVAC/R trade school training or Journeyman HVAC license.
- Experience with BAS (e.g., Johnson Controls Metasys, Trane, Carrier, Siemens).
- Experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and hydronic systems.
- Experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, or federal facilities.
- OSHA safety training.
