Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician, where you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing mechanical systems that keep buildings comfortable, safe, and efficient. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance across diverse environments. Your hands-on skills will ensure optimal operation of heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems, contributing to the comfort and safety of our clients. Duties Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems; perform equipment troubleshooting to resolve complex mechanical or electrical problems. Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure efficiency and longevity; replace worn components using hand tools and mechanical systems repair techniques. Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems when necessary; ensure all work complies with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants. Collaborate with clients by providing exceptional customer service; explain technical issues clearly and recommend appropriate solutions for system upgrades or repairs. Maintain detailed service records, logs of inspections, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports to ensure compliance and facilitate future maintenance planning. Experience Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC system repair and maintenance; construction experience is highly valued for understanding building integration. Familiarity with HVAC design principles, schematics, building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, plumbing connections, and refrigeration processes. Hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment installation—including air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems—and ongoing system maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Knowledge of appliance repair techniques related to HVAC components; ability to perform comprehensive equipment troubleshooting and repairs efficiently. Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants; experience working with electrical diagnostics and complex mechanical systems is preferred. A valid driver's license (including driver if applicable) for field service operations; willingness to travel between job sites as required. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
