Duties Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, gas and oil furnaces, heat pumps, ductless units, boilers, and related mechanical components. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to execute precise installations and repairs. Perform plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as condensate drain lines or refrigerant piping. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues using tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment; perform equipment repair or replacement as needed. Maintain property by ensuring HVAC/R systems operate efficiently; perform routine maintenance tasks including filter changes and system calibrations. Operate a driver vehicle safely for transportation to job sites; adhere to all safety protocols during installation or service tasks. Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot complex systems involving ammonia refrigeration or other specialized refrigerants. Experience Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician with a strong background in construction or property maintenance. Hands-on experience with HVAC/R systems including refrigeration, air conditioning, boilers, and appliance repair. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of plumbing, welding, and equipment repair enhances your ability to handle diverse service scenarios. Field service experience demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills in real-world environments. Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with ammonia refrigeration systems or commercial HVAC/R setups is highly desirable. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating heavy equipment or specialized tools such as ohmmeters is preferred.
