Residential HVAC Field Service Supervisor Central Air Heating, Cooling & Plumbing Portland Metro Area Pay:
$40-$50 per hour + performance bonus Lead From the Field. Develop Great Technicians. Deliver 5-Star Service. Central Air Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is looking for an experienced Residential HVAC Field Service Supervisor to lead, coach, and develop our residential HVAC service technicians in the field. This is not a desk management position . We are looking for a leader who wants to be in the field working alongside technicians—conducting ride-alongs, providing technical support, improving service-call quality, developing technicians, reducing callbacks, and ensuring our customers receive an exceptional experience. Central Air has served Portland-area homeowners for more than 25 years, and we're continuing to grow our HVAC and plumbing service operations. We are also a Nexstar Network company and believe strongly in coaching, training, accountability, consistent processes, and continuous improvement.
Compensation:
$40-$50 per hour, based on experience, plus performance Bonus. This position is designed to reward a Field Service Supervisor for both strong leadership and the performance and development of the HVAC service team. What You'll Do As our Residential HVAC Field Service Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be developing the performance of our HVAC service technicians in the field. You'll spend your time:
  • Conducting regular technician ride-alongs and field coaching
  • Providing real-time technical support to HVAC service technicians
  • Helping technicians diagnose difficult HVAC and comfort problems
  • Reviewing service calls for technical accuracy and quality
  • Coaching technicians on the complete customer service experience
  • Ensuring technicians perform thorough system evaluations
  • Helping technicians clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and options to homeowners
  • Training technicians to educate customers without using high[1]pressure sales tactics
  • Reviewing callbacks and identifying opportunities for additional training
  • Performing field quality-control inspections
  • Helping reduce callbacks and improve first-call resolution
  • Coaching technicians on repair versus replacement opportunities
  • Ensuring company service procedures and standards are consistently followed
  • Monitoring technician performance and individual KPIs
  • Conducting regular one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Creating development plans for technicians who need additional support
  • Recognizing and developing high-performing technicians
  • Helping onboard and train new HVAC service technicians
  • Assisting with technical training meetings
  • Supporting technicians when difficult customer situations arise
  • Working closely with dispatch, customer service, sales, installation, and company leadership
  • Maintaining a safe, professional, and accountable field service culture This Position Is About Coaching We're not looking for someone who simply tells technicians what they're doing wrong.   • HVAC Experience
  • 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred
  • Strong residential HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting
  • abilities
  • Strong knowledge of gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat
  • pumps, thermostats, airflow, electrical systems, indoor air
  • quality, and residential HVAC controls
  • Ability to diagnose difficult system and comfort problems
  • Understanding of residential HVAC installation and service

  • Strong commitment to workmanship and quality Leadership Experience Previous experience as an HVAC Field Supervisor, HVAC Service Supervisor, HVAC Service Manager, HVAC Field Manager, HVAC Trainer, Lead HVAC Service Technician, or Senior HVAC Service Technician is strongly preferred.
