Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting complex HVAC systems in commercial buildings. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and system reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of mechanical systems, collaborate with clients, and contribute to building comfort and safety across diverse environments. A strong foundation in HVAC design, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and refrigeration is essential to excel in this role. Responsibilities Install new HVAC systems including equipment setup, ductwork, piping, electrical wiring, and controls in commercial settings. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure peak performance and energy efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment such as boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and building automation systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems. Diagnose mechanical issues related to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) components and execute effective repairs. Collaborate with clients to assess their needs, provide expert recommendations on system upgrades or replacements, and deliver exceptional customer service. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and documentation of system diagnostics for ongoing maintenance planning. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC system installation and repair. Service technician experience working with commercial HVAC/R systems is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of schematics, mechanical systems repair, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration principles including ammonia refrigeration if applicable. Familiarity with HVAC design principles and building automation systems for efficient system operation. Ability to use hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively during installation or repair tasks. Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC setups such as condensate drainage or refrigerant piping. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical systems or boiler operation are advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver is beneficial. $28.21 - $89.00 per hour
