hvac technician Thorndale, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22668938 Summary Thorndale, PA In-Person Competitive Salary 1 Years Experience Vocational/Technical Certificate No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description Make a Meaningful Difference Every Day The position of the HVAC Technician is to provide students and employees with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work, learn, play, and develop.
Qualifications:
Certification in HVAC or equal. Must have experience in HVAC. Be familiar with codes pertaining to this trade and how to apply them.
Essential Functions:
To keep in a safe and working condition all Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Units, water coolers in facilities owned or operated by the School District. Be familiar with any codes pertaining to this trade and how to apply them. Work and practice safety at all times. Know how to read blueprints, pneumatic drawings, and schematics of this trade. Perform all work in a workmanship-like manner, clean up after each job, maintain tools in good order, keeping vehicle assigned to him/her in a clean and orderly condition, inform his/her Supervisor of materials needed to be ordered for that trade. Learn how to work well with other trades on the same job and get along with them. Be familiar with HVAC fittings, controls, pneumatic/electric switches, circulator pumps, and exhaust fans and able to repair same. Familiar with different pipes and materials (where and how to use them, name type, materials, and size used). Familiar with operation of air compressor, ATC system thermostats (pneumatic and electric) and similar controls. Install, inspect, maintain, adjust, and rebuild all types of refrigeration, air conditioning, air cooling, and heating unit systems and accessories, water coolers, and ice maker unit throughout the School District. Perform related electrical work. Work with blueprints, drawings, wiring, and manuals. Make sketches, diagnose problems and plan work method, use test equipment to diagnose trouble. Connect and disconnect duct work systems associated with the installation of air conditioning, refrigeration, and air heating HVAC equipment, install and repair brushes, tips, contractor control boards, fuses, sensors, etc. Connect and disconnect (related electrical controls). Test and add proper gases and refrigerants and lubricate equipment. Hook and unhook material in conjunction with repairs. Know how to solder or braze a joint (copper, silver solder or brazing rod). Do any job assigned to him/her by Supervision. Required Clearances (External Candidates Only) Clearances must be uploaded with the application and be dated within 1 year: Act 34
