Job Description

Position Summary The HVAC Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC and refrigeration systems at commercial properties throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland. This role requires strong technical knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness, and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with all applicable safety standards, licensing requirements, and building codes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities HVAC service, repair, and preventive maintenance at commercial facilities throughout PA, DE, MD, and NJ. Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, cooling towers, forced air systems, pumps, automatic and manual valves, expansion valves, and capillary tubes. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and servicing of refrigeration systems, heating and ventilation units, boilers, gas-fired equipment, and electric HVAC systems. Repair or replace defective HVAC components and controls including thermostats, relays, switches, fan motors, dampers, louvers, filters, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure controls, safety devices, and automatic gas valves. Perform skilled electrical troubleshooting and maintenance related to HVAC systems including motors, timers, wiring, disconnects, and control panels. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using meters, gauges, testing equipment, and manufacturer diagnostic tools. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, inspection reports, and material usage documentation. Respond promptly to emergency service calls and customer requests. Weekend, after-hours, and on-call work may be required. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, local/state codes, manufacturer specifications, and Company safety policies. Maintain professional communication and customer service standards while interacting with clients, tenants, vendors, and team members. Utilize technology including smartphones, tablets, computers, and web-based applications to manage service documentation, upload photos, complete job notes, and close work orders within the Company's management system. Required Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of commercial HVAC service and repair experience preferred. Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, electrical controls, and building automation systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Working knowledge of HVAC troubleshooting procedures, refrigeration cycles, airflow principles, and electrical systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple service calls efficiently. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work on rooftops, and perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions. Required Licenses & Certifications EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required. OSHA 10 Certification required; OSHA 30 preferred. Valid HVAC Technician License where required by state or local jurisdiction. Boiler License, Refrigeration License, or Stationary Engineer License preferred where applicable. Manufacturer certifications (Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Lennox, Mitsubishi, etc.) preferred. Experience or certification with Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC controls) preferred. Preferred Skills Experience working in occupied commercial environments including retail, office, healthcare, industrial, or educational facilities. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Professional demeanor and strong customer service orientation. Ability to prioritize emergency repairs and communicate effectively with management and clients.
Pay:
$35.00 - $42.00 per hour
