Construction Laborer Job Description This role supports a busy construction project by organizing and moving materials, assisting skilled trades with tools and equipment, and performing general labor tasks on an active job site. You will work primarily outdoors, handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, and contribute to the smooth and safe operation of daily construction activities. Schedule is 7, 10 hour days for 70 hours per week for a 1-2 month contract. Must be able to start 6/15. Responsibilities Organize construction materials and keep the job site neat and orderly. Move materials around the job site safely and efficiently. Retrieve and stage tools, equipment, and materials for skilled trades as needed. Use hand tools and power tools, including operating a sawzall, in a safe and proper manner. Lift, carry, and position materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety. Follow all site safety rules and procedures to support a safe work environment. Assist other team members with general labor tasks as directed by site leadership. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience working on a construction site. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Experience with general labor tasks in a construction environment. Ability to safely operate hand tools and a sawzall. Strong organizational skills to manage materials and tools on site. Commitment to following safety practices and procedures on an active job site. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience supporting skilled trades on construction projects. Ability to work extended shifts of 10 hours per day as needed. Work Environment Work takes place at a large construction project site in Defiance, OH. The schedule consists of seven 10-hour days, with overtime paid after 40 hours. The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting, carrying, and use of hand and power tools such as a sawzall. Appropriate workwear suitable for a construction site, including safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and sturdy work boots, is required in accordance with site safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Akron, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
