- Service and repair electrical and environmental-control systems associated with
ROTHR RADAR
systems.- The HVAC work includes, but is not limited to the servicing, maintenance, and repair of the following:
- Cooling systems with strip heat for load and humidity control externally mounted and ducted to the ROTHR Power Amplifier (PA) Shelters.
- Heating and Cooling units externally mounted on ROTHR Receiver (Rx) Site Monitor (SM) Shelters and wall heating units mounted internally to PA and SM Shelters;
- A computer interfaced automation control system used to upload, monitor and control the Automatrix DX-1 controller boards on the Receive Site's HVAC units.
- Work from commercial manuals, blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical/HVAC system or equipment; working standard computations relating to electrical load and refrigeration requirements on electrical and/or HVAC equipment; and using a variety of hand tools, measuring, and testing instruments.
- Work cooperatively with RADAR Electronics Technicians to solve complex radar system problems involving interrelationship of electrical, electronic, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Candidate will perform all other related duties as assigned and required.
Required Skills & Certifications :
HVAC certificate or diploma proving course completion. Universal EPA refrigerant handling certification. Practical skills and experience in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work. Qualifications We Prefer Electrical and HVAC License. Previous or current security clearance. Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Office, and/or Visio Software. This position is on a service contract with a set (non-negotiable) hourly rate of $23.48/hour. In addition, a Health & Welfare benefit is paid at $6.00/hour. The U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division sets the Service Contract Act (SCA) health and welfare benefit rate. The Health & Welfare benefit for this role is $6.00/hour.
