Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Helper and be a vital part of delivering comfort and efficiency to commercial and residential spaces. In this energetic role, you will assist skilled HVAC technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities Assist with the installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, equipment, and controls according to schematics and design plans Support technicians in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems Help perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and longevity Use hand tools and electrical diagnostics equipment such as ohmmeters to identify issues within electrical and mechanical systems Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE during all tasks to maintain a safe working environment Assist with the inspection of building automation systems and electrical systems for proper functioning Support the testing and calibration of HVAC components to meet specifications and standards Qualifications Construction experience or familiarity with mechanical systems is highly desirable Prior service technician experience or exposure to HVAC system repair is a plus Basic understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, and plumbing systems Knowledge of refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, air conditioning, and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools for equipment repair and installation Ability to read electrical diagrams and perform electrical diagnostics effectively Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver certification preferred EPA certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire for handling refrigerants safely Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members Willingness to learn about building automation systems and electrical systems related to HVAC operations This role is paid from day one — perfect for motivated individuals eager to build a career in the HVAC industry.
