Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Commercial Technician and become a vital part of maintaining optimal indoor environments across various properties. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems (rtu,480v,controls) ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably. Your expertise will help improve comfort, safety, and energy efficiency for our clients while providing exceptional service that exceeds expectations. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including commercial air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose system issues accurately. Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) equipment using specialized tools such as ohmmeters. Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure HVAC systems operate at peak performance and comply with safety standards. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and mechanical systems repair techniques to complete installations and repairs efficiently. Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems including refrigeration units and plumbing components related to HVAC operations. Provide excellent customer service by explaining system issues clearly and offering practical solutions to clients. Maintain detailed service records, logs of inspections, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports. Ensure all work complies with local codes and EPA regulations for refrigerants handling and environmental safety standards. Requirements Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and installation. Service technician experience in HVAC or related fields such as appliance repair or property maintenance. Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, building automation systems, electrical systems, and HVAC design principles. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting up to 75 ton rtu or refrigeration units. Mechanical knowledge of boilers, air conditioning units, plumbing systems, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting techniques. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; welding experience is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver certification preferred. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or mechanical systems are advantageous. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Experience working with building automation systems (BAS) or similar control systems is highly desirable. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments requiring physical stamina and problem-solving skills.
