In this energetic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of HVAC/R equipment, enhance building comfort, and support property maintenance operations. A strong foundation in mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, refrigeration, and building automation systems is essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC/R equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and mechanical systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults within complex systems. Install or replace mechanical components, piping, electrical wiring, and refrigerant lines following safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting work performed and parts used. Support property maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs and building automation system adjustments to optimize operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerant handling and other environmental standards; maintain necessary certifications such as EPA certification. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC/R systems with construction or property maintenance background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems such as boilers or ammonia refrigeration units. Ability to read schematics, HVAC design documents, and electrical wiring diagrams accurately. Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls for system optimization. Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; familiar with plumbing and refrigeration principles. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles is advantageous. Certifications including EPA refrigerant handling certification; additional skills in welding or appliance repair are a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments.
