Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance, and property upkeep. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal operation across multiple facilities. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of HVAC design, plumbing, refrigeration, and equipment repair, with experience in field service and appliance repair. A valid driver's license is required for travel between sites. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with mechanic experience and a passion for maintaining complex mechanical systems. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment such as ammonia refrigeration systems. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Conduct installation and upgrade of HVAC components following HVAC design specifications. Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures related to HVAC systems and property maintenance needs. Utilize welding skills for equipment repair or modifications as necessary. Diagnose electrical problems within HVAC/R equipment and perform necessary repairs or replacements. Assist with the installation of new systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate into major repairs or system failures. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used. Skills Proven experience in construction, service technician roles, or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC systems. Strong mechanical knowledge related to HVAC/R, refrigeration, boiler operation, and appliance repair. Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams accurately. Familiarity with HVAC design principles and field service operations. Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues. Skilled in equipment repair including welding and mechanical adjustments. Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC applications. Ability to operate heavy machinery or specialized tools safely; driver's license preferred for site travel. Capable of working independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and safety compliance.
