Job Description

WTR Companies is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position servicing both commercial and residential HVAC systems . This is not an entry-level, apprentice, or helper position. We are looking for an experienced service technician who can independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment without requiring constant supervision. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, be comfortable running service calls independently, and have the experience necessary to accurately diagnose problems and complete repairs. Responsibilities Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems. Run service calls from initial diagnosis through completion. Service air conditioning, heating, heat pump, rooftop, split, and package systems. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, control, and refrigerant-related issues. Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections. Repair and replace compressors, motors, capacitors, contactors, controls, thermostats, and other HVAC components. Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and system testing. Install and replace HVAC equipment and components as needed. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical documentation. Use meters, gauges, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively. Accurately document diagnosis, work performed, materials used, and recommendations for additional repairs. Clearly explain findings and repair recommendations to homeowners, property managers, businesses, and other customers. Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and work area. Follow company procedures and applicable safety requirements. Participate in an on-call rotation as required. Qualifications Previous professional HVAC service technician experience required. Must be able to independently diagnose and repair HVAC systems without direct supervision. Experience servicing both residential and commercial HVAC equipment strongly preferred. EPA Section 608 certification required. Texas HVAC Technician Registration or applicable licensing required as appropriate. Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills. Thorough understanding of the refrigeration cycle and proper HVAC charging procedures. Experience diagnosing electrical components, controls, airflow issues, and refrigerant-related problems. Ability to read wiring diagrams and use electrical meters and HVAC diagnostic equipment. Must be comfortable working on rooftops, in attics, and in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including climbing ladders and lifting equipment and materials. Valid driver's license required. Must have an acceptable driving record and be eligible to operate a company vehicle. Strong communication and customer service skills. Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to manage service calls efficiently. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle/driving record check.

This position is for an experienced HVAC Service Technician. It is not a helper, apprentice, or entry-level position. Applicants should have the experience and technical knowledge necessary to be dispatched to residential and commercial service calls and independently diagnose and repair HVAC equipment.
