Commercial HVAC Journeyman - HVAC Installation Technician (Commercial Construction) St. George, UT | Full-Time | Commercial HVAC Construction | New Construction HVAC Installer Job Overview S&S Mechanical is hiring a Commercial HVAC Journeyman / HVAC Installation Technician / Commercial HVAC Installer in St. George, Utah with strong experience in commercial HVAC systems, mechanical construction, and new construction HVAC installation . This role focuses on commercial HVAC installation, ductwork fabrication and installation, copper refrigeration piping, brazing, HVAC system layout, and equipment setting on active commercial construction job sites throughout the St. George, UT area and surrounding Southern Utah region . We are seeking a skilled journeyman-level HVAC technician who can read blueprints, work independently, and perform high-quality HVAC installations in a fast-paced commercial construction environment . Compensation & Benefits $28-$36/hour (based on commercial HVAC experience and skill level) Health Insurance (Medical Coverage) Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays HVAC training & professional development support Tuition reimbursement programs Core Responsibilities (Commercial HVAC Installation & Construction) Install commercial HVAC systems in new construction and tenant improvement projects in St. George, UT and surrounding areas Perform HVAC installation, mechanical assembly, and system setup Install and fabricate commercial sheet metal ductwork systems (round and rectangular duct) Run, install, and braze copper refrigerant line sets (HVAC piping / refrigeration systems) Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and HVAC construction plans Perform HVAC layout, duct routing, and system alignment in the field Install and set rooftop units (RTUs), air handlers, condensers, and commercial HVAC equipment Work alongside foremen, HVAC supervisors, project managers, and other construction trades Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and job site safety protocols Ensure high-quality HVAC installation workmanship and mechanical code compliance Support and train HVAC apprentices and junior installers on job sites Maintain clean, organized, and efficient commercial construction work environments Required Skills & Experience 2-4+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience (journeyman HVAC preferred) Strong background in HVAC mechanical installation and commercial construction Experience with copper brazing, refrigeration piping, and HVAC line set installation Experience installing commercial duct systems and sheet metal fabrication/installation Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, HVAC drawings, and mechanical plans Knowledge of HVAC systems, installation procedures, and construction sequencing Ability to work independently on commercial HVAC job sites in St. George, UT region Strong understanding of HVAC safety procedures and OSHA compliance Valid driver's license (preferred) Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops (HVAC equipment installation) Ability to work in construction environments (indoor/outdoor job sites in Southern Utah climate conditions) Ability to perform physically demanding HVAC installation work Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and overhead work Career Growth Opportunities This position offers long-term advancement into Lead HVAC Installer, HVAC Foreman, or Senior Commercial HVAC Technician roles in the St. George, Utah commercial construction market .
