Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Residential HVAC Installer and Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring our clients experience optimal comfort and reliable heating, cooling, and mechanical systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential projects, from installing state-of-the-art HVAC systems to performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Your expertise will help improve indoor air quality, enhance energy efficiency, and deliver exceptional customer service. Duties Install residential HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment following schematics and HVAC design plans. Perform routine maintenance on existing HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) equipment using electrical diagnostics, ohmmeters, and other hand tools. Conduct mechanical systems repairs related to HVAC installations or service calls. Diagnose electrical issues within HVAC systems and building automation systems to identify faults quickly and accurately. Use welding, refrigeration techniques, and mechanical knowledge to repair or replace components such as compressors, fans, thermostats, or boilers. Provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols clearly to clients. Maintain detailed service records, schematics diagrams, and reports for each job performed. Operate a driver vehicle safely while transporting tools and equipment to job sites. Adhere to safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration when applicable. Qualifications Construction experience with hands-on installation or maintenance work preferred. Proven service technician experience in HVAC or related mechanical fields. Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, and building automation systems. Knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boiler operation, and appliance repair is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge with experience repairing mechanical systems such as fans, pumps, or ductwork. Ability to use hand tools effectively along with diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Experience with equipment troubleshooting across various HVAC/R components is essential. Valid EPA certification for refrigerants; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or welding are a plus. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude; ability to communicate technical information clearly.
