Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Full-Time Onsite (Occasional after-hours, emergency, or on-call support may be required) Join the T47 International Team T47 International is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to support facilities operations and maintenance at a federal facility in McLean, VA. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems while ensuring reliable building operations and compliance with all applicable codes and safety requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with commercial HVAC systems, chilled water and heating water systems, building controls, and refrigeration equipment in commercial, industrial, or government facilities. Primary Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain air handling units (AHUs), rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, exhaust systems, pumps, motors, VAV boxes, fan coil units, and associated HVAC equipment. Perform maintenance on chilled water and heating water systems. Diagnose and repair HVAC controls and related electrical and pneumatic control systems. Perform routine inspections, testing, and operational checks to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency. Replace filters, belts, motors, thermostats, valves, actuators, bearings, and other mechanical components. Utilize electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and refrigeration testing equipment to diagnose system deficiencies. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical drawings. Coordinate with other maintenance trades to complete facility repairs efficiently. Document completed work, materials used, and maintenance activities within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and all applicable safety standards. Minimum Qualifications Minimum five (5) years of experience performing commercial HVAC and facilities maintenance. Qualifications equivalent to three (3) years as a Journeyman HVAC Mechanic. Completion of a recognized HVAC or Air Conditioning apprenticeship program.
Working knowledge of:
Commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems Building automation and HVAC controls Chilled water and heating water systems Primary and secondary electrical distribution systems Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Electrical, electronic, and pneumatic testing equipment EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred) is required Possess any required federal, state, or local licenses or certifications applicable to the trade. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Valid driver's license. Ability to successfully pass any required background investigation and maintain facility access. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federal or government facilities. Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS). Additional trade certifications in HVAC controls, refrigeration, or electrical systems. Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
