  • Job Title: HVAC Installer
  • Job Description
  • The HVAC Installer is responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on new construction projects. This role requires strong technical skills, precise workmanship, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other construction professionals to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, schematics, and specifications to determine layout, materials, and installation sequence for HVAC systems.

+ Perform rough-in work, including laying out and installing duct systems, vents, bath fans, returns, and line sets according to design specifications and state/local codes.

+ Perform finish work by setting and mounting air handlers, furnaces, condensers, HRVs/ERVs, thermostats, grilles, registers, and related accessories, ensuring proper airflow and system operation.

+ Install and connect refrigerant piping, condensate drains, and low-voltage and equipment wiring in accordance with diagrams, codes, and safety standards.

+ Measure, mark, and determine ductwork and piping requirements; cut, assemble, and secure materials to meet design and performance specifications.

+ Work closely with the project foreman and coordinate with other trades on site to ensure cohesive, efficient project execution and minimal rework.

+ Follow all safety standards and regulations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area on construction sites.

+ Verify that all installations meet applicable safety and building code requirements before project completion.

+ Use technical manuals and documentation to guide installation, troubleshooting, and adjustments as needed.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned to support project timelines and quality standards.

  • Essential Skills
  • + 2+ years of proven experience as an HVAC installer or technician in a construction environment, or 2+ years of recent field experience in HVAC without a degree.

+ Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and overall system functionality.

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical plans, schematics, and technical manuals.

+ Demonstrated experience installing furnaces, air conditioners, air handlers, condensers, HRVs/ERVs, thermostats, and associated accessories.

+ Ability to install and connect duct systems, vents, bath fans, returns, line sets, refrigerant piping, condensate drains, and low-voltage wiring in compliance with codes and standards.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot installation issues and ensure proper system performance.

+ High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship and code compliance.

+ Ability to work effectively on active construction sites, including non-climate-controlled environments.

+ Valid driver's license.

  • Work Environment
  • This position is based on active, non-climate-controlled construction sites where you will work primarily with new construction HVAC installations.

You will be part of a small to medium-sized shop environment that promotes teamwork and open communication. Typical hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with only rare overtime on Fridays, supporting a long-weekend style schedule in most weeks. The employer supplies most of the core tools needed for the job, including an impact driver, drill, 1' and 3' levels, torpedo level, measuring tape, hex/nut driver set, hand seamer, 12" folding tool, duct or utility knife with replacement blades, and snips (left, right, and bulldog). Personal protective equipment requirements include work gloves, steel-toe boots, a high-visibility vest, and bringing sufficient water and food for a full workday. A hard hat is provided on site. The work involves physical activity, use of power and hand tools, and regular coordination with other trades in a construction setting.

  • The pay range for this position is $20.

00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
