Job Description

Job Title:
HVAC Tech - Immediate Opening Job Description This role focuses on installing HVAC ductwork for commercial projects, working on-site to fabricate and install duct systems alongside experienced journeyman partners. You will use a variety of hand tools to build and assemble ductwork, contributing to high-quality mechanical installations in a growing, dynamic contractor environment. Responsibilities Install HVAC ductwork for commercial projects according to project specifications and safety standards. Use hand tools to fabricate, cut, and assemble ductwork on site. Work closely with journeyman-level partners to coordinate and complete ductwork installation. Assist with layout, measurement, and alignment of duct systems to ensure proper fit and airflow. Support project coordination efforts by communicating progress and any issues to the site lead or foreperson. Follow all site safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely. Collaborate with other trades on site, including electrical and low-voltage teams, to ensure efficient project execution. Troubleshoot basic installation issues and make adjustments to ductwork as needed. Adhere to company quality standards and contribute to on-time completion of assigned projects. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience installing HVAC systems, with hands-on ductwork installation responsibilities. Ability to fabricate and install HVAC ductwork using hand tools. Experience working on HVAC installation projects, preferably in commercial settings. Understanding of basic HVAC system components and installation practices. Ability to read and follow basic instructions and project directions from journeyman partners or site leads. Strong awareness of job site safety and consistent use of required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. Capability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from more experienced installers. Willingness to work on large, active construction sites with multiple trades present. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in HVAC service work, in addition to installation, is welcomed and will be considered. Commercial HVAC installation experience is preferred. Residential HVAC installation experience will be considered for candidates looking to transition into commercial work. Exposure to cooling systems and related mechanical equipment. Basic understanding of project coordination within construction or mechanical contracting environments. Familiarity with generators and associated systems is a plus. Ability to adapt to a fast-growing company environment with evolving project scopes and responsibilities. Why Work Here? You will join a rapidly growing contractor that has doubled in size since 2015 and continues to win major projects, providing strong job stability and long-term career potential. The organization encourages early responsibility, offering motivated employees the opportunity to run jobs and take on leadership roles sooner than in many traditional environments. You will work in a culture that values smart growth, turning down projects when resources are not aligned, which helps maintain manageable workloads and high-quality standards. The company's multiple divisions, including electrical and low voltage, create a collaborative, multi-trade environment with diverse learning opportunities and room to expand your skills. Work Environment The role is based with a large, non-union HVAC contractor that also operates electrical and low-voltage divisions, creating a multi-disciplinary construction environment. You will work primarily on commercial job sites, which may be large and busy, requiring consistent attention to safety and coordination with other trades. The contractor focuses on significant projects and has a strong pipeline of work, contributing to a stable and growth-oriented atmosphere. Personal protective equipment is required on site, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes, and you should be comfortable working in typical construction conditions such as varying temperatures, noise, and physical activity. The culture emphasizes quality and responsible growth, ensuring that projects are accepted only when the appropriate resources are available to complete them safely and effectively.
