Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on ultra-low temperature freezers (-80C), cold rooms, and HVAC systems Execute maintenance activities in compliance with GMP regulations and standard operating procedures (SOP) Respond to emergency calls and equipment alarms to minimize downtime of critical equipment Document all maintenance activities according to GMP requirements Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues across specialized equipment Participate in validation activities for new and modified equipment Support engineering projects related to facility infrastructure improvements Maintain accurate records of parts inventory and coordinate procurement of supplies Collaborate with facilities team, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure equipment reliability Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision Work overtime or temporarily modify shift schedule as needed Be part of on-call after hours Preferred Qualifications Technical degree/certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or related field Minimum 3-5 years' experience maintaining scientific or laboratory equipment, preferably in a GMP environment Demonstrated knowledge of refrigeration systems, particularly ultra-low temperature applications Experience with building management systems (BMS) and environmental monitoring systems (EMS) Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Understanding of GMP requirements and their application to equipment maintenance Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling preferred Strong documentation skills with attention to detail Ability to work in various environmental conditions and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs as required during shift. Ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis during shift. Ability to walk extensively throughout the facility during shift. Work Environment Work is performed in a regulated GMP facility May require working in temperature-controlled environments Some emergency/on-call duties may be required Safety protocols must be strictly followed when handling refrigerants and working with electrical systems Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
