experience (ANSYS or equivalent). Create and validate 3D CAD models and assemblies. SolidWorks experience Hilbilt-Lufkin & Lufkin Mfg, the manufacturer of HilBilt dump bodies as well as HilArk dump trailers and pup trailers, is currently seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer. Position Summary- We are seeking an Engineer with both Mechanical and Industrial strengths to lead product design, process improvement, and manufacturing engineering initiatives.
- This role serves as a technical bridge between engineering design and production execution. Design & Development
- Design and develop dump bodies and trailers for durability, performance, and manufacturability.
- Create and validate 3D CAD models and assemblies.
- Perform structural analysis and testing as required.
- Prepare production drawings and engineering documentation.
- Implement engineering design improvements based on production and field feedback. Process & Manufacturing Engineering
- Analyze production workflows and implement efficiency improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop standardized processes, work instructions, and technical procedures.
- Improve tooling, fixturing, and fabrication methods.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects, delays, or failures.
- Support capacity planning and production optimization. Operational Engineering Support
- Maintain BOM accuracy and ERP engineering data.
- Support quoting, costing, and technical material decisions.
- Coordinate engineering changes and revision control.
- Partner with production to resolve technical challenges.
- Track engineering metrics and performance indicators. Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise CAD Operator to ensure drawing accuracy and release readiness.
- Mentor interns and junior team members.
- Work cross-functionally with production, purchasing, sales, and leadership teams. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- 5+ years engineering experience in manufacturing or heavy equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD software and engineering documentation.
- Experience with ERP systems and BOM management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications
- FEA experience (ANSYS or equivalent).
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge.
- Experience with welded steel assemblies or trailer equipment.
