Applicants must have prior experience repairing machinery in a manufacturing facility. This is a safety-sensitive position in a drug-free workplace. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a drug screening and background check. Candidates must be available to work overtime as needed, including some Saturdays. No phone calls. Responsibilities Perform general maintenance on manufacturing machinery, building structures, electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, grounds, and related equipment. Diagnose equipment problems and repair or replace mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing components. Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, oiling, belt adjustment, painting, and equipment inspections. Install, maintain, and repair production machinery, plant equipment, guards, and safety-related equipment. Read drawings and use them to build or complete equipment modifications. Develop practical methods for adapting available machinery to production requirements. Repair or replace floors, structures, and other facility components. Assist with specialized equipment installation, repair, and maintenance under appropriate guidance. Use common maintenance tools and equipment, including hydraulic benders, thread cutters, drills, and similar tools. Maintain the building and grounds. Respond to equipment breakdowns and support machine installations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous manufacturing maintenance experience is required, including hands-on experience repairing machinery in a manufacturing facility. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, drawings, and procedure manuals. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility-maintenance systems. Ability to use common maintenance and repair tools safely. Ability to calculate percentages, proportions, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing production and maintenance priorities. Flexibility to work fluctuating hours, overtime, and some Saturdays due to equipment breakdowns, installations, or other operational needs. Ability to pass a drug screening and background check. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive tasks with hands, tools, and controls. Safely lift materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Safely lift materials weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance. Use additional assistance or appropriate lifting equipment for heavier loads. Work Environment Work safely near moving mechanical parts and operating production equipment. Regularly work in moderately loud environments; hearing protection may be required. Work in varying weather and climate conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Adapt to indoor and outdoor conditions associated with maintenance operations.
