GED Full Job Description Key Responsibility:
Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production line equipment including fillers, conveyors, labelers, motors, and auxiliary systems. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Install, align, and commission new equipment, including participation in plant expansions and continuous improvement initiatives. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement timely corrective actions. Support production changeovers, line setups, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product quality. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support repairs and modifications. Perform minor fabrication and machining of parts as needed using shop equipment. Troubleshoot basic PLC-controlled systems and interface with controls technicians as needed. Respond to emergency breakdowns, including equipment shutdown, safety assessment, and controlled restart of operations. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives. Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical disciplines preferred. 2 - 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing (aerosol, liquid filling, or similar environment preferred). Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, and filling equipment. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills including motors, sensors, and control circuits. Experience with PLC systems (troubleshooting and basic diagnostics). Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation. Experience with preventive maintenance systems (CMMS preferred). Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Basic machining and fabrication skills. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation:
(For California, IL, and Remote positions only) Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $25/hour in our lowest geographic market up to $37/hour in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
