Job Description

Company Brief:
Fiberstar, Inc. (www.fiberstar.net), a growing company that sells and manufactures functional clean label food ingredients all around the world. Fiberstar is looking for a skilled process mechanic (3rd shift) to join our team in Clewiston, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical systems and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our machinery.
Hours:
3rd shift Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7:30am Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists operator in controlling and maintaining process parameters to produce product within specification. Perform repairs on various types of machinery and equipment, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards Completes preventive maintenance according to schedule in accordance with good manufacturing practices. Completes required paperwork. Operate the plant and relieve the process operator as needed. Troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues as needed. Perform housekeeping and maintenance support duties as required Responsible for keeping accurate records of daily functions according to standard operating procedures. Follows all safety procedures and protocols pertaining to and including lock-out, confined space, and hot work. Assists the production personnel in cleaning and maintaining plant sanitation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. Must be capable of communicating issues, problems and resolutions with other shift mechanics. Comfortable with working at heights over 20 feet Ability to climb ladders Basic electrical skills - wiring of small HP motors Must be able to see the entire color spectrum. Must have knowledge of pumps, motors, and tools of process control. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
