This position performs the duties of maintenance around our plants by completing a variety of maintenance, repair and construction functions. Candidates must be a self-starter, be mechanically inclined, and have the willingness to learn and be taught. Essential Duties Visually inspect machines and equipment and locate causes of malfunctions Perform diagnostics, trouble shoot, and repair equipment as needed Perform operations on machines shop equipment such as grinders, ban saws, cut off saws, drill press, forklifts, welders, cranes, etc. Install and/or assemble machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other drawings Work in all areas of the plant using the appropriate PPE at all times Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers Job Knowledge General knowledge and understanding of electrical components and equipment Knowledge or experience with plumbing and welding a plus Understanding and knowledge of basic computer skills Understanding of hot works, torching, confined space, and structural integrity Qualifications High school diploma or GED Completion of a trade school program in electrical, plumbing or welding preferred Prior experience working in preventative maintenance highly desired Experience working with and troubleshooting electrical and pneumatic switches and systems is ideal Must be able to work flexible hours (days, nights, and weekends as needed) Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and have the ability to identify and complete necessary tasks with little to no supervision, ensuring equipment and facilities remain in top condition.
