This position will be located in Orlando, Florida with an estimated duration of 4-6 months. - Work with engineering staff on new product development and existing product enhancements,
- Create accurate CAD design layout, modeling and documentation for new product development.
- Provide cost estimates and materials/manufacturing analysis for new product development.
- Create detailed fabrication drawings, test procedures, assembly drawings, specifications, bills of materials and other pertinent design data and documentation for the procurement and build of prototypes and production units.
- Perform detailed dimensional, tolerance, and manufacturability studies and analysis.
- Prepare recommendations on materials, components, specifications, manufacturing and test methods for new and existing products.
- Support the creation and maintenance of all related engineering documentation.
- Provide support to production for the build, test and delivery of finished products as required.
- Provide support in the creation of product manuals.
- Maintain design, development, test, and associated records for assigned projects.
- Perform duties under, and provide support to, company Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned. Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in opto-mechanical engineering, design and product development.
- Experience in 2D and 3D CAD modeling and drawing generation using AutoCAD and/or Solid works.
- Experience in design and documentation of precision fabricated parts and assemblies, instrumentation enclosures and packaging, and optical mounts and positioning systems.
- Working knowledge of Engineering Design, Drafting, and Documentation procedures.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and drawing standards.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bonus Experience
- Basic knowledge of optical components and materials and their application.
- Spectro radiometry / spectroscopy-based instrumentation experience.
- Familiar with
ISO 9001
