Primary Duties Becomes familiar with all the processes of the Kalihi plant and Kapolei warehouse machinery (ex: shrink wrap machine). Fully understands the set-ups and sequence of operations of the above processes. Becomes familiar with all the support equipment (boilers, heat exchangers, homogenizer, compressors, air dryers, RO/DI water purification system). Assures the timely completion of all maintenance requirements. Supports maintenance systems by completing Preventive Maintenance checks (PMs) and Work Requests in a timely manner. Assists production to ensure all safety, quality and productivity goals are met. Fully understands the liquid nitrogen, and Tap Tone fill/pressure detector. Follows quality and GMP standards at all times. Maintains organization of the shop so parts are easy to find. Analyzes equipment issues and recommends improvements. After approval, plans and implements improvements. Secondary Job Functions Communicates regularly and effectively with GM Maintenance, other maintenance personnel, and production personnel. Ensures that all tools and materials are accounted for and that the area is clean after completion of each task. Identifies parts and materials needed and submits parts request form. Ensures documentation is completed in a timely manner. Completes facility maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry and painting at Puuhale and Kapolei facilities.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Prolonged standing with frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, handling and fingering, and occasional reaching.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in-doors, but occasionally in extreme hot and humid production areas or extremely cold freezers. Exposed to extremely noisy work areas. Must be able to use personal protective equipment as required. This position requires contact with raw materials and finished products containing soy or milk.
Work Hours:
Must be available to work various shifts, including Saturdays.
Educational/Experience Requirement:
High school graduate or equivalent. Three to five years experience as a plant mechanic or related work experience.
Licensure and Certification Requirement:
Proof of certification of forklift training, or must successfully complete certification training as directed. U.S. drivers license, with reliable transportation (to drive to/from Kapolei location as needed).
