This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing sheet metal systems primarily within HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical environments. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of construction practices, HVAC design, plumbing, and related mechanical systems. A valid driver's license is preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring technical expertise in field service, equipment repair, welding, and property maintenance. Candidates should be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. Responsibilities Install, assemble, and repair sheet metal ductwork and related HVAC components according to specifications and schematics Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and HVAC design documents to ensure accurate installation Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, refrigeration units including ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and air conditioning units Conduct equipment repair using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment Assist with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems when necessary Operate field service equipment efficiently to troubleshoot issues in commercial or industrial settings Ensure all installations meet safety standards and building codes Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times Experience Proven experience in construction, service technician roles, or mechanical installation projects Strong background in HVAC/R systems including refrigeration (ammonia refrigeration), air conditioning, and boiler maintenance Skilled in reading schematics and HVAC design plans for accurate installation Mechanical knowledge with experience in appliance repair, property maintenance, or equipment repair Experience with welding, boiler operation, or mechanic work is highly desirable Familiarity with field service operations involving HVAC/R systems or plumbing is preferred Prior experience operating tools such as ohmmeters or specialized equipment for system diagnostics Knowledge of service technician practices including troubleshooting refrigerant systems and performing routine maintenance This position is integral to delivering high-quality mechanical installations and services across various commercial settings.
