Job Description

We are seeking self-motivated, hands-on individuals to join our entrepreneurial company located in Seward, IL - just a 15-minute drive from southwest Rockford. Seward Screw, LLC is a family-owned manufacturing company in a small town and our employees are part of the family! We also offer a tool purchasing program and uniforms. The most desirable candidate will be willing to work 40-60 hours per week with minimal supervision, results oriented, work in a variety of fields - all centered in machinery. They will perform basic maintenance and repairs on machines. They will also check the performance of machinery, clean and lubricate them, perform basic diagnostics, and at least damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary. Role & Responsibilities Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. Completes preventive maintenance. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts, CNC equipment, Screw machine equipment, etc. Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments. Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders. Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Documents maintenance reports, summarizing work completed and time required on work orders. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Assist in other maintenance projects as needed. All other duties as instructed by supervisor. Qualifications & Education Requirements Read/Interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings. Troubleshoot, Repair and Maintain Machinery. Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting. MIG and Stick Welding/Fabrication. Set up and operate manual machinery (Lathe, Bridgeport). Exposure to working with PLCs. Repair and maintain conveyors, belts, chains, motors, heavy equipment, fixtures, hoists, cranes and plumbing. Wiring of machinery and working with up to three-phase 480v. Mechanical breakdowns and rebuilds. Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations. In-depth knowledge of system maintenance. Must have a positive and cooperative attitude.
