Job Description

MECHANICAL, INDUSTRIAL, OR GENERAL ENGINEER
Taylorville, IL Full-time Full-time Engineer for maintenance operations and production equipment development at the Taylorville, IL plant.
Position :
Technical competence, the ability to interact with people properly, and the ability to learn existing, unique manufacturing concepts is required . Experience with industrial robotics is required. Must be proficient in 3D CAD plus CAM experience in generating code for CNC equipment. As this is both a "pure engineering" and high level position, a mature personality, excellent work ethic, and the desire/motivation to succeed is required. Experience required. Production equipment development is related to the design and construction of new production equipment using computer and PLC controls with special machine control hardware and software specific to, and developed at this plant. Currently, a complete production line is waiting to be finished that will complement other automated production lines at the plant. There is heavy emphasis at our plant on internal design and construction of plant production equipment, including tooling design.
About us:
JKMP is an 81 year old privately held patent manufacturing company of mining equipment and electronic controls. Maintenance operation supervision is related to the maintenance of the plant stationary and mobile equipment, including major machine tools (about 100 presses with capacities from 15 to 1000 tons, numerous press brakes and shears, CNC chipmakers and presses, etc.), about 50 lift trucks with capacities from 2,000 to 40,000 pounds, about 25 other pieces of major mobile equipment, the plant co-gen facility maintenance of numerous pieces of special automatic manufacturing equipment built at the plant, building maintenance, etc. It is emphasized that this is a "real world" practical position of assisting numerous people with engineering considerations and "down to earth" machinery and equipment development.
