You'll spend most of your day on the plant floor, side‑by‑side with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to boost equipment reliability, safety, and throughput. A day in the life Morning standup leads to a walk through your area, where you triage recurring issues and plan quick wins. By mid‑morning, you're elbow‑deep in a pneumatic or hydraulic assembly, validating a repair and confirming the fix with a test run. After lunch, you trace an electrical fault, step into basic ladder logic on an Allen‑Bradley PLC to isolate an interlock, then document the change. You close the day advancing a small capital project—coordinating a contractor, updating the schedule, and tracking spend—before finalizing updates to PM work orders and P&IDs. What you'll take on Be the hands‑on engineering presence on the production floor, resolving persistent equipment and process issues in real time Lead or assist troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems—including repair, testing, and validation Support equipment that runs on Allen‑Bradley PLC platforms; perform basic ladder logic troubleshooting to aid root cause analysis Plan and execute small to medium capital improvement projects with safety oversight, budget tracking, contractor coordination, and schedule control Own and guide the Management of Change (MOC) process for modifications to equipment and processes in your areas Create and maintain technical documentation: preventive maintenance work orders, spare parts lists, P&IDs, and equipment records Analyze production and equipment performance data to surface improvement opportunities and implement solutions What you bring Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology plus 3+ years of industrial manufacturing experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology Proven, hands‑on experience with industrial machinery in a manufacturing setting Background in troubleshooting electrical systems and working in PLC‑controlled environments Familiarity with Allen‑Bradley PLC systems; basic ladder logic troubleshooting preferred Experience managing capital projects and juggling multiple priorities effectively If you thrive on solving problems where they happen—on the floor—and enjoy translating insight into tangible improvements, this Indianapolis role was built for you.
