Job Title:
Mechanical Assembly Technician Job Description The Mechanical Assembly Technician works in a manufacturing environment assembling machine components by following detailed prints and standard operating procedures. This role involves hands-on mechanical work with hand and power tools, collaborating with a team to build subassemblies, and coordinating with material handlers to obtain required parts. The position requires consistent, precise assembly work, with most components taking approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete. Responsibilities Assemble machine components by following mechanical prints and documented procedures. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to build and fasten components. Work as part of a team to build and integrate different subcomponents into complete assemblies. Collaborate with material handlers to pick and stage required parts and materials for each build. Follow written instructions and directions accurately to ensure proper assembly and quality. Handle and move parts and assemblies, including lifting items up to 50 pounds as needed. Meet established build times, typically completing each component in approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines within the manufacturing environment. Inspect assembled components for accuracy and quality, and make basic adjustments or corrections when necessary. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of assembly or mechanical aptitude experience, such as building cars or working in a mechanical trade. Ability to read and interpret mechanical prints or follow detailed written directions. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components. Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Experience using hand tools and basic power tools in an assembly or mechanical setting. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions consistently. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and high-quality assembly work. Why Work Here? The company operates with a family-owned culture that values long-term relationships and a supportive atmosphere. Team members enjoy seasonal cookouts during the summer, fostering a sense of community and appreciation. Work Environment This role is based in a clean manufacturing facility operating Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You may stay late on weekdays and occasionally work about four hours on a Saturday, with no Sunday work.
