Full-time Job Summary:

Our chemical manufacturing facility in Valparaiso, IN is seeking experienced mechanically skilled professionals to join our Maintenance Department. ShoreMet is a copper chemical manufacturer and trusted supplier of high-purity copper chemicals for industrial catalysts, animal nutrients, wood preservation, surface plating, ceramic & glass additives, mining applications, and more. We are looking for independent candidates with strong mechanical maintenance and repair backgrounds who can apply their skills to a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The qualified candidate will be proficient in operating, troubleshooting, rebuilding, and repairing mechanical equipment — including Industrial lifts(articulating, fork and scissor),pumps, agitators, gearboxes, bearings, compressors, chillers, heat exchangers, and other rotating and process equipment. HEAVY INDUSTRIAL

experience or equivalent mechanical experience in related fields such as: Heavy equipment maintenance and repair Diesel mechanics (on-road or off-road) Manufacturing machinery maintenance Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Industrial fabrication and welding Power transmission systems and rotating equipment Millwright Fluid mechanics and pump systems Robotics (industrial and service) Combustion engine systems Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Aerospace mechanical systems experience Pressure vessel and pressure systems maintenance Industrial ventilation systems Tribology (friction, lubrication, and wear) Thermal power cycles and efficiency improvements Steam power systems operation and maintenance Heat transfer systems and applications

Job Responsibilities:

Perform mechanical maintenance on industrial equipment and systems. Troubleshoot and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, agitators, and related equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Assist in the installation and alignment of new equipment. Support day-to-day operations and respond to equipment breakdowns. Collaborate with other maintenance and operations staff to improve reliability and efficiency. Follow all safety and environmental rules to protect personnel and equipment.

Mechanical optimization strategies

Job Skills & Qualifications:

3+ years of heavy industrial or equivalent mechanical maintenance experience. Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid systems. Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Welding, fabrication, or machining experience a plus. Knowledge of thermal systems, steam operations, and pressure systems. Familiarity with robotics, automation, and reliability-centered maintenance. Safety-focused, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to work in the United States and have a valid driver's license Independent with strong mechanical optimization strategies
