Assembly Mechanic - Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Custom Dredge Works, Inc Topeka, KS Job Details Full-time $25.13 - $30.27 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Qualifications Industrial mechanic experience Forklift Manufacturing Hydraulics Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description Custom Dredge Works, INC is looking for an experienced and mechanically minded Assembly Mechanic to join our team in Topeka, Kansas. This role is focused on the assembly, rebuilding, and installation of heavy mechanical equipment and systems used on dredges, booster pumps, and related machinery. We are looking for someone with solid mechanical experience, good problem-solving ability, and the willingness to learn new equipment and systems. We are also willing to train the right person with strong mechanical aptitude and a positive attitude. Responsibilities Mechanical assembly of heavy equipment and machinery Install and align driveline, gearbox, transmission, bearing, and rotating components Rebuild mechanical assemblies and equipment Install seals, bearings, shafts, couplings, and precision mechanical components Read and interpret assembly drawings and mechanical prints Perform troubleshooting and mechanical adjustments Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and shop equipment Assist with equipment testing and startup Maintain clean and organized work areas Occasional travel for service or installation work Qualifications Mechanical assembly experience preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and common sense Understanding of driveline systems, transmissions, bearings, and rotating equipment Experience rebuilding or repairing heavy equipment, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery Ability to install delicate seals and precision components correctly Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly prints Comfortable working with large fabricated equipment and assemblies Willingness to learn and take on new challenges Ability to work independently and within a team environment Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: Heavy equipment repair Industrial maintenance Diesel equipment Pump systems Gearboxes and transmissions Hydraulic systems Manufacturing or equipment assembly What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Stable, full-time position Hands-on work with large custom equipment Growth opportunities within the company
