Wichita, KS | Full-time | On-site Important - Read Before Applying This is not an entry-level or training position. We are hiring experienced, high-performing aerospace assembly mechanics . This role is for professionals who can deliver quality and pace in a structured manufacturing environment. Policies and procedures are enforced , including attendance , break/lunch adherence , safety , and production/quality standards . This is not a "work while socializing" environment— performance metrics matter . Use of phones (texting, social media, etc.) while on the clock is not acceptable. Applicants who do not meet the experience and eligibility requirements below will not be considered.

Eligibility Requirement (Required) Axiom Engineering is ITAR-registered and performs defense-related work . This position requires access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other export-controlled technical data. Access is required for job-related paperwork, travelers/work instructions, specifications, and controlled technical data. Candidates must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62) (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident/green card holder, or protected individual/refugee/asylee). We cannot sponsor work authorization for this role. Applicants who do not meet ITAR "U.S. Person" eligibility will not be considered. About the Role Axiom Engineering is a fast-growing aerospace manufacturer in Wichita, KS specializing in precision CNC machining and small assemblies. We are seeking an Aerospace Assembly Mechanic who can consistently produce spec-compliant work, maintain pace, and meet quality expectations in a metrics-driven production environment. This position may not require frequent blueprint work, but it does require strong ability to read job paperwork, understand requirements, and correctly apply specifications . Key Responsibilities Perform aerospace mechanical assembly on aircraft parts and sub-assemblies to specification Install aerospace fasteners and hardware including Hi-Loks , nutplates, standoffs, brackets, etc. Perform reaming operations to specification while maintaining hole quality and preventing damage Install shrink-fit bushings and other bushing types per process requirements Apply sealants/adhesives as required by work instructions and specifications Perform electrical bonding preparation/assembly steps per requirements (surface prep, verification steps as required) Use appropriate tools and methods to protect parts and prevent FOD, damage, and rework Follow travelers/work instructions/specifications exactly and complete required documentation/traceability steps Self-inspect work, identify defects/damage/out-of-spec issues, and escalate immediately Execute work safely: comply with PPE, procedures, and shop rules at all times Meet expectations for safety, quality, throughput, and schedule support (metrics-driven environment) Requirements (Must Have) 3-5+ years of direct aerospace/aircraft parts assembly experience (hands-on; not general manufacturing) Proven experience installing aerospace hardware/fasteners including Hi-Loks Proven experience with reaming and hole quality control practices Experience installing shrink-fit bushings (or equivalent aerospace bushing installation experience) Experience supporting or performing electrical bonding -related assembly requirements Ability to read and follow job paperwork, travelers, work instructions, and specifications with strict accuracy Consistent history of quality workmanship (low rework mindset, first-pass quality focus) Dependable attendance and punctuality; able to follow enforced break/lunch schedules Safety-first mindset—complies with procedures and PPE without exception Professional, team-oriented behavior and clear communication Willingness to work in a structured environment where phone use is not permitted during production time and performance standards are enforced Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Familiarity with aerospace documentation/traceability expectations (certs, lot control where applicable) Experience in a traveler/ERP-driven production environment Comfort working to workmanship standards and inspection checkpoints (shop/self-inspection discipline) Performance Expectations (Standards & Metrics) This role is evaluated on measurable outcomes, including:
