Overview:
Auto Cast is seeking a 2nd shift Industrial Maintenance Technician. This position is integral to the overall productivity of the operation by minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment reliability. You will be troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty machinery including High-pressure die cast machines, furnaces, hydraulics, and robotics. Preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems will also be imperative to maximize production efficiency. The right person for this position will be someone who enjoys a fast pace, self motivated and works well independently. High proficiency in mechanics, electrical and hydraulics are all imperative to your success in the role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Use knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems to diagnose and perform necessary repairs on die cast machines, trim presses and melt furnaces. 2. Make replacement parts, piping, hydraulic repairs, and minor electrical repairs when needed. 3. Perform welding operations to repair equipment or to fabricate various structures as needed. 4. Preventative maintenance of all plant equipment to include routine inspections, cleanings and part replacement to prevent unexpected machine failures. 5. Obey and practice all safety procedures, including proper use of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 6. Maintain adequate inventory of key replacement parts for repair of equipment 7. Maintain building and grounds as needed 8. Make emergency repairs on all plant equipment immediately upon notification of failures 9. Maintain clean and organized safe work environment, including following 5s 10. Work overtime as required in order to meet production schedule. 11. Must possess or be in the process of acquiring own personal tools specified by leader. 12. Assist all other employees when needed to train and keep machines operational. 13. Any other duties that management may deem necessary. Required Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Excellent attendance is a must
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination; o Able to bend, twist, push, pull, reach, kneel and crouch repetitiously.
o Able to ascend and descend steps, stairs and platforms o Ability to stand for long periods of time required, up to 8-10 hours with up to 3 breaks. o Ability to repeatedly lift 20 pounds repeatedly, and occasionally lift materials up to 50 lbs. o Able to wear necessary PPE, including: safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, bump cap, long sleeves and steel toes safety shoes.
  • Knowledge of basic math, reading and writing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Technical proficiency including mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting, as well as electrical competency
Pay:
Up to $26.00 per hour
