Job Requirements Installation, service, inspections, and planned maintenance of residential elevators, wheelchair lifts, stair lifts, light commercial elevators, LULAs, and vertical platform lifts Loading, unloading, and transporting equipment to job sites Working from ladders, scaffolds, and on harnesses to safely install residential elevators Mechanical assembly of systems in a hoistway Electrical wire pulling and low voltage wiring of locks and call stations Building wood cabs in the hoistway and completing customer turnover of operation units Demonstrating how the unit works and the safety features of the system Troubleshooting system issues and using programming tools to diagnose faults Assisting with MCP plans and writing up maintenance plans for equipment Using a service system to track hours, schedule, and customer documents Required Skills and Qualifications Show up on time, every time After hours study Communication with staff and customers Use an electronic scheduling system Read installation manual and install per drawings and specifications Use a VOM Use a tape measure with fractions. Add and subtract them Verifying plumb and square Ladder safety and PPE usage Reading blueprints Reading electrical wiring diagrams and know where to check Volt and Ohms Load and secure crates and equipment on a trailer and haul to job site Courteous driving Proper use and identification of hand tools and power tools Reading code and interpreting it Consistently installing products in allotted time Drill holes and use impact to securely install equipment Run conduit per NEC code Training Opportunities All apprentices will be enrolled in the CET Program after they show up for 60 days and prove they are capable of doing the work required. Requires nights and weekends to study and review to pass tests. The CET Educational system is a Nationally recognized and ANSI Certified Training Program. It takes 4 years to complete. It is a self-paced program, so the coursework can be done more quickly, but the OJT hours must match the 4 years of work required to complete the course. Must have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate to qualify. OSHA 30 will be required in your first 90 days of employment. We pay for the Course. You take the class on your time Some of your training will be on the road in other regions of our market. Some of your training will be at Manufacturers locations across the US and Canada We will pay you 40 hours while away at the manufacturer's training, hotels, and meals. Our Investment in your training will be in excess of a $10,000 per year Technical Training course. You are not Locked into a Student Loan payback plan. We just want you to work for CHE and be of the value that we invested. Certifications Once you complete the CET 2-Year exam, you will get an Associates Elevator Technician Certificate - AET Upon Completion of 4 years CET exam, you will be a fully certified Elevator Technician - CET There are state elevator mechanic licenses available for 2 years, 3 years, and 4 years in different states. Our goal is to assist you in getting those licenses so that you can use them as a mechanic for Country Home Elevator. Pay Starting at $18-22 / hr Year 1 CET Completion $22-24 Year 2 CET Completion $25-26 Year 3 CET Completion $26-28 Year 4 CET Completion $28-39 These are not caps, and we reward accelerated progress with raises sooner, if the candidate reaches goals faster.
