CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for an experienced Mechanical Technician IV to support manufacturing capacity expansion projects, equipment installations, startup activities, and production line commissioning. This hands-on role will lead installation and debugging efforts, provide advanced troubleshooting support, and drive mechanical process improvements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Education:
Associate's Degree preferred; High School Diploma/GED with significant related experience will be considered Key Responsibilities
- Lead equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and debugging activities for manufacturing capacity projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical system issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, pumps, bearings, and gear systems
- Support project execution to ensure milestones, timelines, and operational readiness objectives are achieved
- Design and implement mechanical improvements that enhance equipment reliability, safety, and performance
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for equipment and process issues
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, spare parts inventories, and operational procedures
- Support training efforts related to new equipment and process changes Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting equipment installations and startup activities in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience working in fast-paced industrial or manufacturing settings
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong communication and collaboration skills Qualifications
- Expertise with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, bearings, gear systems, pumps, and motors
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Basic CMMS and computer system experience Preferred Qualifications
- Equipment startup and commissioning experience
- Mechatronics trade background
- Manufacturing project leadership experience
- Vendor and supplier management experience
- CAD experience
- Millwright, HVAC, Welding, OSHA, or related industrial certifications
- Experience supporting commercial manufacturing equipment Additional Information
- Travel may be required between project locations in Newton, NC and Hickory, NC
- Standard schedule is 40 hours per week; overtime and periodic off-hours support are expected based on project requirements
