Job Description
Maintenance Mechanic (Electrical & Mechanical) 1st and Swing Shift We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience to join a growing manufacturing team. Shift Schedule 1st Shift Monday-Friday | 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM Swing Shift Monday-Friday | 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and manufacturing machinery. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical systems to minimize equipment downtime. Repair and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, compressor, vacuum, and mechanical power transmission systems. Diagnose and repair AC/DC motors, motor controls, electrical circuits, sensors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical components, wiring, and control systems. Perform mechanical repairs including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, chains, belts, pumps, and drive systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Assemble, install, fabricate, and modify equipment as needed, including welding and light fabrication. Work with steam systems, boiler controls, and other industrial equipment. Maintain accurate inventory of maintenance parts and supplies. Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and on time. Participate in safety meetings, audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in ongoing electrical and mechanical maintenance training. Provide your own basic hand tools (specialty tools are provided). Qualifications 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong background in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, including PLCs, AC/DC motors, motor controls, sensors, relays, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) preferred. Experience repairing and maintaining mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, pumps, gearboxes, and power transmission equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Experience operating shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and welding equipment. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Dependable with a strong work ethic and excellent attendance. Ability to lift, push, and pull 50-100 lbs throughout the workday. Willingness to work different shifts based on production needs. Willingness to cross-train in additional maintenance disciplines. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Education High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree, technical diploma, or trade school certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred but not required.
