ABOUT THE POSITION
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Industrial WW Mechanical Maintenance Technician Iposition. This position will be primarily responsible for: Performing oil changes on blowers, compressors, and pumps. Performing inspections on wastewater mechanical equipment. Using various power and hand tools. Performing preventative and corrective maintenance. Working in a team environment. Using a computerized maintenance management system such as Maximo. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application. The Utility WW Mechanical Maintenance Technician I is a flex position. Upon successful completion of the training program and meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher-level class, to include obtaining any required certifications and/or licenses, the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Utility WW Mechanical Maintenance Technician II.Education and Experience:
Utility WW Mechanical Maintenance Technician I:
High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of full-time experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial-related trades .Utility WW Mechanical Maintenance Technician II:
In addition to the above: Two (2) years of full-time experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial-related trades.Utility WW Mechanical Maintenance Technician III:
In addition to the above Total of three (3) years of full-time experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial-related trades. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.Licenses/Certifications:
Requirements may vary depending on the area of assignment. Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of application.Level I:
Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) Plant Maintenance Technologist Grade I Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire.Level II:
NWEA Plant Maintenance Technologist Grade II Certification.Level III:
NWEA Plant Maintenance Technologist Grade II, at time of application, Certification Grade III preferred. Additional certification requirements vary depending on the area of assignment and may include: National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operator's (NCCCO) Forklift Certification Vibration Analyst levelsI and II Reciprocity:
Employees with out-of-state certifications for any of the above may seek Nevada certification through reciprocity.Working Conditions:
This role may involve occasional work in confined spaces, which could require obtaining Confined Space Entry certification.Background Investigation:
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Additional background investigations may be conducted periodically after employment.Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.Medical Examination:
