Job Description

The Soudronic Group develops, builds and installs superior resistance welding solutions for a variety of applications specific to the metal packaging industry. Our range of products include single components as well as comprehensive, turnkey manufacturing systems. From our office in Briarcliff Manor New York, Soudronic LTD oversees sales and services to customers in the North American and Canadian territories. Service Technician/Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Service Technician/Engineer to join our team. This individual would be afforded the opportunity to work along side our Senior Service Engineers and Technicians to develop and fine tune the electrical/mechanical skills needed to ultimately work independently on Soudronic Group equipment. This position provides a unique long-term career opportunity for a motivated and independent individual to service our equipment nationwide. (Travel approx. 60-80%)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting mechanical and electrical training seminars to customer personnel
  • Providing electrical and mechanical maintenance/troubleshooting of production equipment that has been sold/distributed by the Soudronic Group
  • Installation of machines into production lines, installation of speed-up kits, retrofits, overhauls, at customer sites
  • Servicing of machines after installation, during both the warranty period and after the warranty period
  • Preparation of service reports
  • Trouble shooting and technical assistance for customers on the phone
  • Providing technical support to Spare Parts Department
  • Attending service training courses periodically in Switzerland for refresher courses, learning the latest techniques, developments, and machine innovations
  • Providing emergency services to customers
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training:
Technical School/ Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Knowledge of various tools required to do repairs including multimeter, oscilloscopes, etc. Use of hydraulic/manual presses, lathe or milling machine, drill press/drilling and tapping holes, band saw and cutting tools Reading micrometer/caliper Knowledge of soldering Use of Microsoft Excel and Word, filling in PDF forms Knowledge of industrial electronics-motors, transformers, contactors, relays,
